Activists from seven countries joined the creation of the International Tribunal for Journalistic Investigation of War Crimes against Ukraine - Elias
Activists and journalists from several countries have joined the creation of the “International Tribunal for Journalistic Investigation of War Crimes against the Independent State of Ukraine”.
This was announced by Valentyna Elias, an investigative journalist at Elias Media Group and a public figure, during a press conference at Ukrinform.
“Our goal is to raise the international community. In particular, activists, public figures, journalists and those Ukrainian citizens who have left for different countries. Representatives of seven countries have already joined us: Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, France, and the United States. And, of course, the Russian Federation is also a member of our International Tribunal for Investigative Journalism,” Elias said.
The speaker emphasized that this is the sixth international press conference within the framework of the implementation of the project “International Tribunal for Journalistic Investigation of War Crimes against the Independent State of Ukraine”.
“Today we are presenting a team of leaders. These are the public figures who are participants in the press conference. In particular, the head of the International Tribunal for Journalistic Investigation of War Crimes against the Independent State of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tereshchuk, investigative journalist of the Stolitsa TV channel, Anatoliy Frolov, and Viktor Ochkur of the NGO “Fighting Brotherhood of Ukraine”. These are the people who are with me today. However, there are many more,” said Elias.
She noted that Ukraine is facing difficult times due to the full-scale war. Activists, journalists and public figures should unite around the goal of bringing to justice those responsible for war crimes against an independent Ukraine.
“We are talking not only about Putin's crimes, but also about all the people who committed crimes against Ukraine. In particular, I mean the oligarchs. Why, for example, after the ban of Medvedchuk's party, do members of this party continue to be in parliament? This is a violation of political responsibility and all moral principles,” Elias emphasized.
The speaker added that Ukrainian citizens who have gone abroad should not be inactive. They should raise the issue of bringing war criminals to justice in different countries and engage civil society organizations.
“I would like to add that if you are going through hell, you cannot stop. Of course, it is because of the terrorist Putin and these war criminals that so many people have died, and because of them so many Ukrainians have left for other countries.... We are grateful to the countries that have supported them. Please, if you are abroad, do everything you can to bring Putin to justice.”
